How to deploy DHCP server on Windows Server


DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Control ProtocolDHCP is the most common protocol in network setup every industry, and it is mainly used to assign IP configuration setting to all the client who connected and required LAN or WAN access.


Pre-Deployment requirement
1) Static IP (DHCP server does not work on DHCP enable interface) 
2) The firewall must be turned off.
3) Latest updates are installed.

Follow below mention steps to deploy DHCP Server on Windows server OS


Step 1:  Open server manager and click on "Add roles and features" /
              In server manager window go upper right corner click "Manage menu -> Add roles and features"



Step 2: Click Next





 Step 3: Select "Role-based or feature-based installation" and click "Next"





 Step 4: As we configure local DHCP role "Select a server form server pool" -> "Select server"
              and click "Next" 





 Step 5: Click on "DHCP Server" in list




 Step 6: It will prompt pop-up box and click "Add Features"





 Step 7: Check "DCHP Server" and click "Next"





 Step 8: In some case .NET framework 3.5 need so check ".NET framework 3.5 features" if it is not selected and click "Next'





 Step 9: Click Next





 Step 10: Click Install






 Step 11: After completion of installation click "Task flag" located upper right corner in the server manager window and click "Complete DHCP configuration" under Post-deployment Configuration




Step 12: Click Next




Step 13: Select "Use the following user's credential " -> Commit
               If your system is in workgroup then select "Skip AD authentication"





 Step 14: Check the summary and click "Close"
